26.2 Miles of Gratitude

26.2 Miles of Gratitude

Seventeen days ago, I completed my first full marathon — 26.2 miles through the twists and turns and ups and downs of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate and back, through the rolling hills of Golden Gate Park, the iconic Haight Ashbury and more. It was extraordinary, exhilarating and, at times, grueling. It also afforded me ample opportunity — four hours and 18 minutes, to be exact — to reflect.

As I ran through the streets of San Francisco, I took a look back at the people, places and events that led to this moment — to my running a distance I’d once thought inconceivable, but also to the life I’m so fortunate to have.

Smart Marketing in a Downturn

Smart Marketing in a Downturn

It may be the first week of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, but winter is coming. And with that winter, most economists and business leaders expect a downturn. In recent months, both YPO and Vistage — two of the world’s leading networks for chief executives — have polled their members and come to similar conclusions: Most CEOs expect an economic slowdown by the end of 2019 and through 2020.

The global economic advisors at ITR, who boast an impressive 99% accuracy in their forecasts, agree. After years of growth, we’re headed for a minor global recession in 2020. The good news: They predict this will be a small, uncomfortable bump in the road. The big recession won’t hit for another decade.

What does this mean for marketing?

AI in Marketing is Here

AI in Marketing is Here

We’ve all heard the fear-mongering cacophony predicting that artificial intelligence will displace workers and eliminate millions of jobs. Granted, fear of the unknown coupled with today’s rapid rate of change can be unsettling, but we’re excited about a future where AI helps us be better marketers.

Counter to the dystopian mindset of robots taking over the world, we believe AI has the potential to unlock exponential value and equip marketers with the tools to create an unprecedented brand experience.
